Two Stage 6 hospitals, one in Manhattan and the other in Honolulu - Mount Sinai Medical Center and Hawai'i Pacific Health - are due to pick up their 2012 Enterprise HIMSS Davies Awards of Excellence at the 2013 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans, March 3-7.
The Health Information and Management Systems Society has named Honolulu-based Hawai'i Pacific Health winner of the 2012 Enterprise HIMSS Davies Award of Excellence. Hawai'i Pacific Health is a Stage 6 hospital in electronic health record adoption; a nonprofit healthcare system; and Hawaii's largest healthcare provider.
The 2011 HIMSS Davies Award Winners were announced Tuesday during a conference that was part of National Health Information Technology Week. Officials have also changed the criteria for next year's awards, aligning them with the HIMSS Analytics EMR adoption model.
Eastern Maine Medical Center, the recipient of the 2008 Davies Award, is responsible for the care of two-thirds of the 33,414 square miles of the easternmost state, with the Atlantic at one side and Canada at the top.
