AI could identify early signs of heart disease and even Alzheimer’s in ocular images. But Kerry Goetz, associate director, NEI Office of Data Science and Health Informatics, says a lack of interoperability keeps this image data out of EHRs.  

At HIMSS24, CDC Director Dr. Mandy Cohen, and Deputy National Coordinator Steve Posnack discussed the state of public health data exchange, and where cross-agency collaboration can take it.

In total, the company is offering its cloud clients updates to Vertex AI Search, Healthcare Data Engine and MedLM, designed to improve patient care.
