The draft publication 800-66 focuses on helping inform the industry about security issues around electronic protected health information.

The 10-year strategy led by the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi is based on a patient-first approach, with the goal to provide insights-driven and value-based care. An expert will explain more this week at HIMSS22.

At HIMSS22, the CMIO of BayCare Health System will describe how its clinical and IT staff worked together to ensure care providers "received data exactly how they wanted it to appear" – and reduced prescriptions of controlled substances as a result.

"If you blast people with noise, they will ignore it," said the Senior Director of the Center for Tech Innovation at the University of Maryland Medical System, who will explain more at HIMSS22.

Whether it's predictive analytics, robotic process automation, natural language processing or other use cases, health systems should be thinking seriously about context and workflows, says a UC Berkeley expert who will offer examples during HIMSS22 Digital.

"Emerging and aspiring professionals must be aware of employer needs and rise to new expectations," said a clinical informaticist, who will explain more at HIMSS22.
