Vendor Notebook: GE Healthcare releases meaningful use-ready software

GE Healthcare IT has announced the availability of its meaningful use-ready software release for Centricity Enterprise – the integrated cross-continuum clinical, financial and administrative software solution for hospitals. Centricity Enterprise 6.9 is designed to support organizations that require an integrated inpatient and ambulatory software solution on a single platform and wish to demonstrate inpatient and ambulatory meaningful use.

, a Chestnut Ridge, N.Y.-based provider of software solutions for the home medical equipment (HME) industry and other healthcare organizations, has announced that the its document management software, MedFORCE Scan, has received preliminary ARRA certification as an EHR Module following inspection by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT).

Carestream Health, of Rochester, N.Y., announced that Heartland Regional Medical Center of St. Joseph, Mo., is converting general radiology exam rooms as well as existing mobile X-ray imaging systems from CR to DR with the purchase of six CARESTREAM DRX-1 Systems, five CARESTREAM DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kits and two CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution systems.

GE Healthcare has announced that the Ohio Pharmacy Board has approved the company’s advanced ePrescribing solution for use by the state’s physicians. Ohio is the only state today requiring two-factor authentication. GE met Ohio’s stringent ePrescribing requirements by successfully integrating high-tech biometrics into its Advanced ePrescribing solution for Centricity EMR.
 
TeleTracking Technologies announced that Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio, Texas and the  University of Virginia (UVA) Medical Center are linking patient infection status to its automated patient flow and bed management software, clearly and instantaneously communicating isolation information to all hospital staff.

US-Rx Care, of North Miami, Fla., a pharmacy benefits risk management company, is upgrading its already-robust proprietary prescription system, which will create even more savings for millions of patients. Emdat, a Fitchburg, Wis.-based provider of Web-based medical transcription software, has introduced a new iPhone application that makes it more convenient than ever for health care professionals to manage their patient notes. Emdat Mobile allows providers to obtain a listing of their scheduled appointments, perform dictation, and review and complete transcriptions from their preliminary folder.

Agfa HealthCare, a Belgium-based provider of diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solutions, announced that Western Maryland Regional Medical Center’s recent upgrade to the newest version of IMPAX HeartStation ECG Management System has helped enable the rapid diagnosis and treatment of patients with posterior wall heart attacks. The Cumberland-based hospital is using the recently released features of IMPAX HeartStation to digitally review and archive 15-lead ECG studies.
 
Allscripts has announced that Huntington Memorial Hospital has selected the Allscripts Community Solution to power Huntington Health eConnect, a Health Information Exchange (HIE) that enables physicians, hospitals and other health care providers across the San Gabriel Valley to connect and collaborate for a team approach to patient care, regardless of where they are located or which clinical technologies they use. In addition, Allscripts announced that Centra, a three-hospital system in Central Virginia, has selected its EHR solution for its staff physicians, and the Allscripts Community Exchange as the platform for electronically connecting the medical community in its region.
