Virtual pharmacy services expanded to remote WA
The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) has expanded its virtual pharmacy programs, introducing pre-surgery admission medication reviews in the remote town of Kununurra and extending virtual cardiology pharmacy support across the Kimberley region.
The perioperative service, first piloted at the Busselton Health Campus last year, enables pharmacists to gather and review medication histories and prepare management plans ahead of surgery, including coordination with community pharmacies for remote patients.
Another program now connects cardiology outpatients with WACHS pharmacists before specialist appointments, following a pilot in the Pilbara region.
RHCNZ adopts radiology rostering system
RHCNZ Medical Imaging Group, New Zealand’s largest private radiology provider, has selected Core Schedule to implement an integrated workforce management system across more than 73 sites.
The rollout combines Core Schedule, TimeFiler and Alxemy to automate roster-to-pay processes, award interpretation, leave balance projections, and radiology-specific scheduling requirements.
Wellington-based Core Schedule already supports other New Zealand radiology services, including Bay Radiology, Wellington Hospital, and Lakes District Health Board.
Monash AI project looks at eye images for chronic diseases
Monash University researchers are collaborating with the Digital Health Cooperative Research Centre and startup Optain Health to develop an AI model that uses retinal images to detect chronic diseases such as cardiovascular and kidney disease.
The project applies multimodal AI to decades of health and imaging data to create a non-invasive screening tool for earlier, more personalised detection of chronic disease risks.
