South Shore Health is an independent regional health system offering advanced care at the community level. And it has taken quite a step forward in the transformation of healthcare through artificial intelligence.

South Shore is truly innovating with AI – specifically, an AI-enabled MRI scanner. While its innovation and artificial intelligence plans and deployments go much farther than that, this new scanner is a standout.

Dr. Sam Ash is the newly appointed vice president of information technology and innovation and CIO at the health system. In this week's podcast, he discusses what an AI-enabled MRI scanner can do that a regular MRI scanner cannot, the driving factors behind this investment, expected outcomes after 6-12 months, and much more.
