A-Life Medical, San Diego-based provider of computer-assisted coding products and services to the healthcare industry, announced that Jaye Connolly has been promoted to the additional post of chief executive officer, effective immediately. Connolly had been serving as president since April 2010, and will continue in that role as well. GE Healthcare has announced that it is collaborating with HealthInsight, the regional extension center of record for Nevada and Utah, to help affiliated providers adopt certified EMR technology and meet meaningful use requirements. Funded by provisions in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the not-for-profit HealthInsight organization and other REC programs are designed to assist primary care providers throughout the United States adopt and meaningfully use certified Electronic Medical Record (EMR) technology.

Developed at the request of hospital clients, the tamper-resistant reader features a shutter system that prevents patients from inserting paper clips, pins and similar objects into the slots containing the energized contacts.

GE Healthcare has announced that Northeast Wisconsin's nationally recognized Affinity Health System has chosen its Centricity EMR for its patient care network. The Catholic, mission-oriented, regional health network is a collaboration between the Fox Valley's Ministry Health Care and Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare and plans to implement Centricity EMR across its 22 multi-specialty clinics in 14 communities to help care for an average of 21,000 patients each year.
