Vendor Notebook: New GE ambulatory EHR conditionally CCHIT certified

GE Healthcare announced that its Centricity Practice Solution version 9.5 has been inspected by the chnology-cchit" target="_blank" class="directory-item-link">Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) and is a premarket conditionally CCHIT Certified 2011 Ambulatory EHR, with additional certification for child health and cardiovascular medicine with advanced reporting. Based on CCHIT's first round of usability testing for ambulatory EHRs, Centricity Practice Solution earned a five-star rating, the highest awarded by the commission. Centricity Practice Solution version 9.5 is not yet available; sales are expected to begin this fall.
 
SRS, Montvale, N.J.-based maker of high-performance hybrid EMRs, today announced that Sandhills Pediatrics has selected the SRS hybrid EMR for its 14 providers. Sandhills Pediatrics has four offices in the greater Columbia, South Carolina, area and has served the community's families since 1975.

NextGate, of Pasadena, Calif., announced the release of MatchMetrix 7, a leading Master Data Management (MDM) platform used to build industry-specific indexes, and three MDM suites for healthcare organizations that are built on the MatchMetrix 7 MDM platform. Using intelligent probabilistic and deterministic matching algorithms and a flexible data model, the MatchMetrix MDM Platform generates master data indexes that enable the precise management of information in complex multi-participant environments in any domain.

TeleTracking Technologies, of Pittsburgh, has been chosen by Methodist Healthcare System, San Antonio, Texas for its RadarFind real-time locating system (RTLS), to track thousands of assets, and eventually patients, across multiple facilities.Methodist will implement RadarFind’s sensor-network based RTLS in five of its 24 facilities, with plans for future applications such as patient tracking, infection control, and contextual status reporting on critical environmental conditions.

McObject, Issaquah, Wash.-based provider of the eXtremeDB product family of real-time database management system (DBMS) software, has released its new Data Relay technology as a key building block for fast and flexible data-sharing between real-time applications based on eXtremeDB, and external systems such as an enterprise DBMS. Data Relay helps developers by simplifying the code that “looks inside” database transactions for changes that should be relayed. It also guarantees maximum efficiency by eliminating the CPU-intensive task of monitoring database activity.
 
MRO Corp., a King of Prussia, Pa.-based provider of disclosure management applications and services for healthcare organizations, has announced a contract with UC Health University Hospital in Cincinnati to provide ROI processing services to the facility. Under this agreement, University Hospital will incorporate MRO’s ROI technology with its existing electronic medical record (EMR) system. The new workflow enables the organization to bring its ROI process in-house and partner with MRO to provide the back-office fulfillment functions.

HEALTHeLINK, of Buffalo, N.Y., announced that Windsong Radiology Group has begun submitting patient records and reports electronically through Western New York’s clinical information exchange. It is anticipated that up to 300,000 radiology reports from Windsong Radiology will be shared through the clinical information exchange on an annual basis adding to the millions of reports already being shared among health providers.

Allocade, Inc., of Menlo Park, Calif., a developer of tools to orchestrate patient flow, has announced the availability of new capabilities in its On-Cue operations management software suite. On-Cue is powered by an artificial intelligence engine that orchestrates patient flow and automatically adapts to disruptions as they occur, enabling the industry’s only Dynamic Patient Itinerary – a time-tagged list of each patient’s preparation and procedure events that adapts in real-time as conditions change. This latest release from Allocade adds options to facilitate communications and manage operations while offloading logistical tasks from clinical staff.
 
Viztek, a Garner, N.C.-based radiology solution provider, has installed its Opal-RAD PACS at Strategic Imaging Consultants, PLLC, of Chapel Hill, NC. Using its new Web-based Opal PACS, the busy teleradiology practice will provide diagnostic imaging interpretation for client radiology sites throughout North Carolina. The teleradiology group services multiple private medical offices and urgent care centers with in-house imaging services, including x-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound.  It also provides reading for mobile imaging services.  Viztek’s Opal-RAD allows Strategic Imaging Consultants’ radiologists to interpret studies for all client facilities from any location with internet access worldwide.

Summit Healthcare, Braintree, Mass.-based healthcare system integration and task automation firm, has partnered with Southwest Medical Center, a full service medical center located in Liberal, Kan. Southwest runs MEDITECH as its primary healthcare information system and had been investigating ways to control integration costs primarily around interface management. Operating in a point-to-point interface model for many years, Southwest management saw a need to cut costs by maximizing its interface investments now and for future interoperability needs.  Southwest Medical Center came to Summit Healthcare for technology to help the organization gain control of its interface environment and automate various processes.

Comodo, a Jersey City, N.J. certificate authority and Internet security organization, announced a key addition to its management team with the appointment of Phillip Hallam-Baker, MD, as vice president and principal scientist to spearhead Web security and software development in Americas. Joining Comodo from VeriSign, Dr. Hallam-Baker brings 18 years experience in Web security with the past 12 years spent as principal scientist at VeriSign. He has worked on Web security since 1992, when he worked with the world-renowned Tim Berners-Lee at CERN.

DR Systems, San Diego-based makers of the Unity RIS/PACS, announced six new contracts, including two data migrations from legacy PACS. The new contracts total more than $2.33 million. The six facilities are: Delta Medical Center, Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, Santiam Memorial Hospital, Imaging Center of London, HealthCare Partners Medical Group and Saddleback Memorial Medical Center.

AxSys Technology, Glasgow, Scotland-based provider of patient-centric clinical information solutions, has been chosen by Santa Clara County Independent Physician Association (SCCIPA), which links more than 800 physicians for its Excelicare web-based medical record system. The Excelicare solution – which gives physicians instant access to an electronic record carrying each patient’s complete health record – will deploy a health information exchange (HIE), a SureScripts certified ePrescribing solution and a patient personal health record (PHR) as well as a suite of comprehensive clinical care management modules.

Shared Health, a Chattanooga, Tenn.-based maker of patient-centric electronic medical record technology, has chosen Deane Smith Media Innovations, a leading Nashville public relations, marketing and advertising agency, to provide public relations, media relations and executive team coaching services. Under the agreement, DSMI will launch a multi-faceted PR campaign that combines a diverse mix of traditional, new media and social media strategies to build the Shared Health identity nationwide.
