Vendor Notebook - MedPlus partners with HP on EHR deal

MedPlus, the health information technology subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics, has announced it is partnering with HP to facilitate and simplify electronic health record (EHR) adoption for physician practices nationwide. Quest Diagnostics’ web-based Care360 EHR software and services coupled with HP hardware, services and financing, offer physicians preconfigured bundles designed to enable docs to leverage their technology investment for faster access to patient information and improved office efficiency.  Physicians can receive a personalized onsite assessment of both their technical environment and practice workflow to better understand their unique practice needs.

Allscripts announced that Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) has expanded its partnership with the company by selecting its ambulatory Electronic Health Record as the exclusively endorsed EHR for its 7,200 affiliated physicians in 18 states. CHI also will implement the Sunrise EPSi integrated suite of business Performance Management solutions in its 73 hospitals and has selected the Allscripts Practice Management and other business management solutions for its employed physicians.

Allscripts has also introduced Allscripts Mobile Homecare, an extension of the Allscripts Homecare solution and the industry’s first smartphone application specifically designed for physical therapists, nurse assistants and other clinicians who care for patients in their homes.

In addition, the company announced that Allscripts Professional EHR, Version 9.2 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), an Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATB).

eClinicalWorks announced that eClinicalWorks EMR Version 8.0.48 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on October 1 2010  by CCHIT, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

GE Healthcare has announced that GE Centricity Advance version 10.1 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on October 1, 2010 by CCHIT.

Pegasystems has announced several enhancements that address the healthcare industry’s critical business imperatives. Its new ICD functionality includes general equivalence mapping (GEM) crosswalk tables for ICD-9 to ICD-10 conversion, plus reverse mapping capabilities for diagnosis and procedure codes. Its new technology also gives full support for HIPAA 5010 message standards which impact most payer and providers’ electronic transactions, including claims, claims status and eligibility requests, and authorizations. And its HIPAA 5010 solution enhancements help conduct internal testing necessary to achieve Level 1 compliance, and will also be used for their external testing with the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services when it officially begins in January 2011.

Jackson Healthcare announced that its subsidiary, StatCom, has changed its name to CareLogistics in order to reflect the company’s focus on achieving dramatic and sustainable operational improvements for hospitals and health systems.

IMS MAXIMS has announced the roll-out of its MAXIMS Nursing Module at Leopardstown Park Hospital in Ireland. The Nursing Module has been described as ‘a dream’ to work with by staff at the hospital, based in Dublin. The system now provides a straightforward and effective way to monitor the care of patients, most of them elderly, with a range of physical and mental health needs.

Viztek has announced that the Radiology Group, a major high-volume national contract radiology reading group with clients and affiliated radiologists throughout the US, has selected its Opal-RAD PACS for full image management, replacing an older PACS solution.

CareTech Solutions announced that the Detroit Medical Center has selected its document imaging solution, iDoc, for the eight-facility integrated delivery system’s patient financial services operation.

Emerson Network Power has introduced Avocent Data Center Planner, a visual infrastructure planning and management software solution within Emerson Network Power’s strategic framework for data center optimization. An upgrade to the former Avocent Mergepoint Infrastructure Explorer, Avocent Data Center Planner provides data center management with accurate and complete information about where devices and equipment are located, their current capacities and projected growth.

RemitDATA has announced the release of its WebScan PRO document imaging application programming interface. Using the WebScan PRO API, companies partnering with RemitDATA can now integrate WebScan PROdocument imaging functionality into their existing platforms. WebScan PRO is a HIPAA-secure, SaaS-based document management solution that minimizes time spent identifying, indexing, filing and retrieving EOBs.

5x Technology, an IT solutions provider and SAP BusinessObjects volume reseller partner, announced the launch of the IntelligentInformation solution – a service providing standardization and cleansing, merging and deduping and data enhancement capabilities. The solution was developed using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services software, customized and adapted specifically for NetSuite users.
