Medical Records Institute announces TEPR Awards finalists

The Medical Records Institute has announced finalists for the 2009 TEPR (Towards the Electronic Patient Record) Awards, which will be given out during the 25th annual conference Feb. 1-5 in Palm Springs, Calif.

The awards recognize outstanding health information technology products and solutions. Companies in the following categories will compete in the final stage of judging:

Personal Health Record Systems  - providers of personal health record systems are judged on criteria such as data, data integrity, security and consumer control.

  • CapMed Personal Health Management Suite, by CapMed.

  • Doctations, by Doctations, Inc.

  • myHealtheVet, by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Hot Products - this category features innovative products that bring the most benefits or positive change to healthcare.

  • Doctations, by Doctations, Inc.

  • iChart EMR, by Caretools Inc.

  • PrivacyLayer, RecruitSource and TrialsFinder, by Private Access, Inc.

  • TapChart, by ImageTrend Inc.

A panel of independent judges, who review and score all award applications, chooses the TEPR Awards finalists.

Finalists will present their solutions before the judges and TEPR+ registrants on Sunday, Feb. 1, from 8-9 a.m. for Hot Products and from 9-10 a.m. for PHRs in the Pueblo A meeting room of the Wyndham Hotel in Palm Springs in conjunction with the 2009 TEPR+ conference.

The winners will be announced at the TEPR+ 2009 opening session of the conference on Monday, Feb. 2, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
