iSOFT, the Australian health IT company, has announced a $2 million deal with ACT Health for new patient and emergency software applications at Calvary Public Hospital.
iSOFT's software applications address the challenges of healthcare delivery, allowing providers to efficiently manage patient information. Their Patient Management and Emergency applications will be installed at the 280-bed Calvary Hospital later this year, with an additional component for support and maintenance of the systems.
The deal follows similar rollouts at Canberra Hospital and across community health initiatives in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Emergency department specialists who work at both Calvary and Canberra hospitals will benefit from a common system of integrated patient care, according to company officials.
"Giving doctors and clinical staff instant access to accurate patient information anywhere across our acute and community settings will help improve patient care significantly," said Owen Smalley, ACT Health's Chief Information Officer. The deal with iSOFT is expected to contribute to ACT Health's goal.
