By Jamie Thompson , Web Producer

InfoMedics, Inc. has announced that it has launched its patient-physician communications platform in Mexico, Chile, Portugal and Spain – with plans to offer the technology in Venezuela, Belgium, Ireland, Denmark and more next year.

The company, which provides communications solutions to the pharmaceutical industry, has recently implemented its technology with 2,500 physicians in Europe and Latin America while meeting local regulations.

“Pharmaceutical brands outside of the U.S. have a different operating environment for providing insight and guidance to physicians and patients," said Gene Guselli, CEO of InfoMedics. "Based on years of experience working with patients and physicians in the United States and with prototype applications across various geographies globally, InfoMedics understands the challenges these regions face and has designed programs to both meet regulatory requirements and bridge the communications gap that can pervade healthcare everywhere."

With InfoMedics’ communication tools, physicians are able to more closely monitor patients and patients are allowed to engage more deeply in their own care. Disease-specific programs address individual patients’ needs, provide disease education and a communication loop-back channel directed to the physician for follow-up. The patient’s feedback is delivered through a voice and web platform to their physician, facilitating meaningful interaction.

In international markets, the programs are completely customized to comply with regulations regarding privacy, consent, and ectory/adverse-event" target="_blank" class="directory-item-link">ectory/adverse-event" target="_blank" class="directory-item-link">adverse event reporting, as stated in the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) and European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). InfoMedics has also assured that their programs meet each country’s codes of practice and EU data protection ordinances.
